Yes, it’s a CrossFit gym, but don’t let that scare you. This gym entrenched in the Seward community self-identifies as body-positive, queer-friendly, and feminist; it’s also got an “I Heart My Muslim Neighbor” sign in the front window. Solcana will get you sweating and civically engaged in no time flat. This place cares about the whole spectrum of your well-being, with classes ranging from CrossFit, to yoga, to making your own kombucha, to navigating health care in Trump’s America. Those classes are capped at 12 members, which means plenty of one-on-one time with a skilled coach guiding you through weightlifting, gymnastics, and conditioning. In under an hour you can rock your body, open your heart, and enlist in the resistance. Oh, and they also let you flip a tractor tire once in a while.
