All My Relations Gallery

All My Relations has had a number of different curators since the gallery became a part of the Native American Community Development Initiative in 2011. But even as the program has grown and changed, it’s remained steadfast in highlighting the excellence and clarity of vision among contemporary Indigenous artists from Minnesota and elsewhere. Over the course of this year, the gallery has offered the insightful “Reframing Minnesota,” which both challenged and proposed an alternative to problematic artwork at the State Capitol (some of which has since been taken down). It has also developed initiatives, under the direction of new gallery director Rory Wakemup, to engage with the neighborhood and local Native community in participatory art. Recent projects include workshops where participants made reflective shields that were then sent to Standing Rock to be part of a performance protest.
