Surly's always-packed beer hall is in a class of its own. No other "taproom" in town can boast of a sprawling beer garden and two restaurants led by raved-about in-house chef Jorge Guzman. But take away that magnificent charcuterie board and all the frills $34 million can buy, and Surly's brew palace is still the best place in town for an on-site pint. Why? The beer, duh. Belly up on any given day and find around 20 unique tap handles (a loaded roster for a Minnesota taproom) pouring limited and seasonal beers. Try them all (though maybe not in one sitting), from hop fiend's dream Abrasive to a rebrew of Surly's long-retired first anniversary beer, One.
