For "Wedding," Poliça's second single from their new album, United Crushers, the local quartet tackled police brutality with a powerful music video directed by Isaac Gale. In addition to grainy footage of aggressive police raids and tumultuous confrontations, vocalist Channy Leaneagh and a coterie of Sesame Street-like puppets teach schoolchildren about what to do when police officers approach, as well as hosting a craft time where they learn how to fashion a gas mask out of household objects. The song itself is pulsating and ominous in its own right, but Gale provides a thoroughly modern twist on the lost innocence of the public service announcement. The unforgettable video adds another menacing layer to the track, while calling into question the overly hostile role of policing in our current society.
