Night Flowers, Tiny Deaths
Vocalist Claire de Lune and producer Grant Cutler returned as Tiny Deaths to release a stunning second EP, Night Flowers. The raw emotions of these synth-driven gems shine majestically, as de Lune's intoxicating vocals mesh seamlessly with Cutler's inventive, textured beats. The four tracks are drenched with heartbreak, loss, and longing, but the dynamic material is never bogged down by the weight of the sentiments expressed in the lyrics. The songs instead soar freely, unencumbered by the tricky affairs of the heart they detail. De Lune and Cutler traded creative ideas between Minneapolis and New York, before Cutler returned to the Twin Cities to record their new EP with Lance Conrad at Humans Win! Studios in northeast Minneapolis. The results of their fruitful collaboration represent a fresh, pulsating new addition to the burgeoning electropop scene in the area, with Tiny Deaths offering up yet another deeply moving, evocative artistic statement that leaves us entranced and wanting more.
