Going out dancing isn't fun if you're constantly anxious about creeps invading your personal space. Grrrl Scout, the queer dance night every second Saturday at the Nomad World Pub, bypasses that crowd all together. The underlying theme of Grrrl Scout is that consent is not only cool, it's mandatory. DJs Girl Named Jane and Troop 612 bring the heat along with giant games of Jenga and bonfires on the Nomad's outdoor patio, when the weather permits. Founded in 2013, Grrrl Scout also puts on its annual Pride event, Summer Camp, at the Cabooze; the Mess Hall queer music series at the Triple Rock Social Club; and burlesque event Drop Dead Gorgeous: A Queer Carnivale in Hell at Hell's Kitchen. To top it all off, Grrrl Scout has an exclusive drink special: the Grrrl Scout Cookie, a Thin Mint-based cocktail.
