The Children's Theatre Company's interpretation of Jules Verne's venerable tale was more a real-life video game than a staid performance. The audience was ushered through the bowels of CTC's building, playing a gang of ensigns assigned to raid the Nautilus and find out what Nemo was up to. The team of Jorge Cousineau (sets), Craig A. Gottschalk (lighting), and Sean Healey (sound) made sure the immersion never wavered. As the audience moved from location to location, the visual and auditory delights continued, whether in the packed study of a trapped scientist (complete with antique typewriter that had a bit of Verne's original book on the scrolled paper) or the overload of the finale on the Nautilus' bridge, where a sea monster attack provided a final shock.
