Harrison Smith is the swaggering, hard-hitting, ball-hawking safety every great defense needs. After an injury-plagued 2013, he showcased his playmaking ability right off the bat in 2014 with a sack and an interception that he returned 81 yards for a touchdown in a week one victory. Star Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall once called him the hardest hitting safety in the league, and his fiery demeanor spawned a multitude of nicknames: Bam, Dirty Harry, Tarzan (he used to have long hair at Notre Dame), and the Eraser. Smith's infectious aggression has gotten him in some trouble, like when he was ejected for pushing a ref in his rookie year. But as long as he keeps channeling it into taking out receivers, he should anchor the back line of what figures to be a solid Vikings defense for years to come.
