If ever there was a room with a view, the Dowling Studio Lobby would be it. It's one of the Guthrie Theater's most beautiful spaces, with canary-yellow glass jutting from the side of the midnight-blue building. It's also one of the best places to take your special someone for a little first-base action. Sneak up to the ninth floor on a day without performances for a breathtaking view of the river and Minneapolis awash in an amber glow, then sidle up to your honey and slip 'em some tongue without a ton of theater-goers gawking at you. Or if you're feeling frisky during intermission, give some folks a show in one of the many conveniently placed niches around the lobby.
