The best neighborhood bars are the ones opened by locals who wake up one morning, too sober from the night before, and declare: "Enough!" Every good neighborhood needs a good bar — if it's lacking you either choose to move or open one yourself. So Bob Parker and Eric Foster opened one. Ward 6 has put the Payne/Phalen neighborhood back on its original path of the 99-percenter, with cheap but delicious pub grub, local brews on tap, and a Cheers vibe you can't fake. This is a real neighborhood for real folk, who when the day is done must take the reward that all hardworking people, everywhere, deserve: a good drink in a good bar.
