Some legends are born simply. Two guys work in a bar. The beer is pretty good; the burgers not so much. In between shifts they scheme. Why not give the Twin Cities what they didn't know they were missing? Hell, why not build a business around it? And so they go rogue. In 2008 the first Blue Door Pub opened. (Fun fact: they took over the lease from a restaurant called La Puerta Azul.) Their menu pumps up the volume on what was once an untouchable Twin Cities classic, the Jucy Lucy. Behold the Blucy, the Blue Door's signature burger — blue cheese and finely chopped garlic stuffed inside a half-pound patty of Angus beef. The burger pays homage to the original, but takes it in a bold and flavorful new direction. Two guys thought they knew how to do a burger joint better, and it turns out, they did.
