Minnesota native Alex Presley has played an instrumental role in the rise of dubstep's popularity here in Minneapolis. Presley goes by the name Vaski, a word that has become synonymous with hot, sweaty dance clubs and pounding bass lines for EDM fans everywhere. Last year, Vaski became the first electronic artist to perform at Target Field during the Midwest Music Showcase. Though he lives in L.A. now, he returned throughout 2014 for a residency and several sold-out headlining shows at First Avenue. This year he's slated for a string of national performances. "I still think differently than a lot of people because I'm not from L.A., I'm from the Midwest," Vaski says of his DJ style. "I'm fortunate to be from where I'm from, and I think it impacts me in a really positive way."
