For young music lovers, the ever-present challenge is finding those elusive all-ages shows about town. The VFW enjoyed a good run with some all-ages punk shows in its dingy basement last year, which was eventually cut short. Thankfully, there's one place that fans of every age are always granted entry to: the Garage. Picture the Garage as a giant magnet that attracts plaid-laden teenagers with spiked hair and eager eyes from their suburban homes, a place where angst turns into a mosh pit. It's not just a haven for punk, though — the Garage is a great place to take in all sorts of newer acts, some on their first tour stop in Minnesota. This spring, the Burnsville venue reopened under new management and unveiled new recording studios and a new cafe.
