Icehouse hosts shows across the music spectrum, but its wealth of original jazz performances has made it a must for serious fans. On Mondays, there's JT's Jazz Implosion, a creative carryover from drummer JT Bates's improvisational days at the old Clown Lounge. Other recent highlights include experimental fusionists Happy Apple's one-off reunion, and drummer Dave King taking over the club for a three-night stand. Some of the most respected local musicians in the scene also show up for casual early-evening dinner sets, as well as weekend brunch slots. The small room is set up in an inviting way and boasts top-notch sound and perfect sight lines.
