The Hub Bike Co-op on Minnehaha Avenue

In this town of co-op groceries and cafes, a worker-owned bike shop is almost obvious, but that doesn't mean we're any less lucky to have the Hub. All of the Hub's three locations — on the West Bank, at the U of M's Bike Center, and our favorite, the shop in south Minneapolis — take the community ethos to heart and actively add to the Twin Cities' rich cycling culture. The Hub hosts do-it-yourself Open Shops, runs classes on skills like basic maintenance and wheel building, and also helps operate SPOKES, the community bike space that works to spread biking access. If the Hub's commitment to Twin Cities cycling isn't enough to persuade you, then its selection will: The Minnehaha location stocks bike brands like Surly, All-City, and Bianchi. And for those with lower price points, the Hub also fixes and sells bikes secondhand. Need the bike you already have tuned up for spring? The Hub guarantees all labor for 90 days.
