Best Sports Team

Minnesota Lynx

The Lynx are the reigning WNBA champions and have made it to the league championship series three years in a row (they also won the title in 2011). In other words, believe it or not, Minnesota may have a professional sports dynasty on its hands. It should be noted, of course, that the competition for "Best Minnesota sports team" wasn't exactly stiff this year, with the Twins and the Vikings among the dregs of their respective leagues and the Timberwolves and Wild mired in mediocrity, but the run the Lynx are on would merit recognition regardless of the broader sports context. And with all their key players returning this season, the Lynx are well positioned to make another run for the title. Turns out local sports fans can have nice things — you just have to follow women's basketball to know about it.
