In a way, Mitrebox reflects what we love so much about the Twin Cities: It's got a ton of sophistication with none of the snobbery. In a charming galley-style shop in the North Loop, guarded by a gentle black labrador named Henry, Mitrebox owner Sara Nachreiner brings a passionate expertise to each framing project. The front of the store is stocked with letterpress cards, notebooks, and unique locally made gifts, while the back of the store is packed with frames in all shapes, sizes, and colors — an overwhelming array were it not for the individual attention and recommendations proffered by Nachreiner and staff. For framing projects large and small, Mitrebox tends to each print, painting, and photograph with remarkable detail, proving just how much the picture shapes the frame and vice versa.
