Paul Allen got his start at KFAN when Jesse Ventura decided to run for governor back in 1998. More than 15 years later, it's hard to turn on a Twin Cities radio without hearing his voice. In addition to serving as the longtime host of KFAN's morning show, P.A. is the official play-by-play voice of the Vikings, does radio and TV spots for a number of local businesses, and even calls the horse races down at Canterbury Park. And for someone who is from D.C. and spent a number of years living in California, P.A. has developed a remarkable affinity for the local teams, especially the Vikings — if Minnesota sports fans were polled as to their top association with the word "homer," P.A. would be at the head of the list. Goes to show that being a true Minnesotan doesn't require being born here.
