Some folks take mini road trips to outlet malls, others to parks and lakes. And then there are those who head out on the highway for a destination meal. Phil's Tara Hideaway in Stillwater is a restaurant worth the drive. The small space is part log cabin, part supper club, and was recognized as a historic landmark in 2007. The bar is the type that makes a mean dirty martini and offers generous pours of hearty red wine. The menu is a unique mix of Greek and steakhouse, with burgers and just about any cut of steak imaginable. The seafood offerings are killer, too, and highlights include sea scallops with lobster butter and seared walleye. Added bonus: The menu, created by owner Phil Barbatsis and head chef Brad Nordeen, is all locally sourced.
