It's tough to say when a homegrown Twin Cities comedian has reached the point in his career where he's considered "national." If it means touring the country, appearing on talk shows, headlining (and selling out) your homecoming shows in Minnesota, and selling a TV pilot to a major cable network, then it's safe to say Cy Amundson is as national as it gets. Since relocating from Minnesota to Los Angeles, Cy has been on a tear, working some of the biggest and most famous comedy clubs all over the country. Last February, he sold a television pilot to MTV, and absolutely killed on his first late-night television performance when he appeared on Conan. While Cy is making noise on the national comedy scene, he still finds time to show love to his hometown. This summer he captained a team of comedians at Acme Comedy Company's first-ever Punchline Punchout, and served as a special guest headliner for the 10,000 Laughs Comedy Festival this past fall. Much like other comedians who got their start as Acme open micers, Cy is poised to become the next big thing to come out of our bitterly cold comedy scene.
