There's a definite art to proper thrift- and/or vintage-store shopping. Sure, any of us with a passing eye for fashion can put together an outfit, but it takes something extra to do it on the cheap and have it look like you spent a fortune. Specifically, that something extra is called "style." For the stylist in all of us, there's one store in particular to get us our fix: Rewind Vintage, with locations in Northeast and also now (having recently closed its Nokomis store) in Whittier. Its inventory runs the gamut of styles and decades, with a number of gems straight out of the mod '60s. That said, it's no hodgepodge of hand-me-downs. Find something on the rack here and it's almost always an outfit builder. But the best part about Rewind isn't just that hot dress or perfect jacket, it's the accessories — walls and walls of gorgeous jewelry, handbags, belts, and scarves. It's just the stuff to have you looking like a real rock star, and not just some clown-shoes honky rocking his grandpa's style.
