"Hot Cheetos and Takis"

Who would have predicted that the summer jam of 2012 would come out of an after-school program in north Minneapolis? Though the video may have come out of left field, it was impossible not to be instantly won over by the charms of "Hot Cheetos & Takis," the smash viral vid from the artists formerly known as the Y.N. Rich Kids. It was dripping with cuteness, for sure — the multiple costume changes, the manic dance moves, the bicycle montages and playground shenanigans, and the get-down, bad-girl turn by MC Jasiona. (Not to mention the whole premise of elementary school kids rapping about their favorite snacks.) But the real reason "Hot Cheetos & Takis" blew up the YouTubes and the Twitters was because these Kids were straight-up legit: The beat was catchy, the hook got stuck in your brain on first listen, and did you see that Ol' Dirty Bastard dead-ringer from Ben 10? So to hell with all those cat videos; you can catch us and our crew getting down to them "Hot Cheetos & Takis."
