When it comes to sledding hot spots (so to speak), it's all about steepness: The hills should be steep, and the price of admission shouldn't be. Boasting one of the steepest hills in northeast Minneapolis—and requiring no admission fee—Columbia Golf Course delivers on both scores. (Although if you came tubeless or sledless, you'll need to fork over five bucks to rent a tube for the day.) The only downside to Columbia Golf Course (the only official sledding hill in the Minneapolis park system) is the lack of a tow line, which means you'll have to repeatedly haul your own ass to the top of the hill, which can take a toll on your stamina. But there's nothing wrong with a little workout, Sisyphus. Besides, replenishments are not far off; the nearby clubhouse serves concessions on weekends and no-school days from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
