BEST TOY STORE (2001)
If you need another digital gadget or computer game, shop somewhere else. Sister Fun has toys for all ages from a simpler place and time. For starters there's the all-metal model locomotive engine ($9), a nice throwback to the Fifties. We're also fond of such made-in-China items as the Elephant on Turning Drum ($11). The prices at Sister Fun recall a simpler place and time, too. Nearly everything here is priced to move, such as a set of Simpsons playing cards for $1.75. Plastic lizards start at a mere 25 cents, rats for 50 cents. Admit it: You misplace that much in loose change every day. Dig just a little deeper and you can buy yourself a Mr. T coloring book, a folder depicting Horshack of Welcome Back, Kotter fame ($1.75 each), or the Magilla Gorilla lunchbox ($8). And if you don't like what you see, just plan another trip; the inventory is always changing. But don't show up on Monday--they're closed to recover from the weekend.
