The upstairs at Let It Be has rare James Brown 45s, Can LPs, and a constantly growing selection of gorgeous jazz albums. But it's the dance-music shop in the basement that draws us back again and again. Not only is it stocked with hundreds of very hard to find techno, drum 'n' bass, hip-hop, trip-hop, and house records, you can actually listen before you buy, a crucial feature when trying to sift through all those cover art-less techno platters. Many a CP music staffer has wasted Saturday afternoons here, knee deep in sweet Parisian house music or dark, sexy Underground U.K. hip hop.
