When Shilla closed for a brief vacation last summer, our phones rang off the hook with customers panicked that the restaurant had gone under. Loyal patrons were terrified that Shilla's grilled salt-crusted adka fish, lively beef stir-fry bul go gi, roiling spicy stews, and, perhaps above all, the pan chan--a selection of homemade kimchi and other pickles that varies with the seasons--would be lost to them forever. Not to worry, Shilla's here to stay.
