Zenon Company opens its 28th season tonight

The holiday season is just around the corner, and with it comes an onslaught of great theater performances and live dance.

Part of that wave of talent is Zenon Dance Company, who will open their 28th fall season tonight with premiere performances not to be missed. Like season openers before, this weekend's shows will surely impress.

Nationally known for their emotional presence and physical diversity, Zenon Dance Company will roll out this season with world premiere dances by New York choreographer Colleen Thomas and Luciana Achugar of Uruguay, who is based in Brooklyn.

In addition, Andrea Miller will present her celebrated work Picnic, Lightning along with Like and Octopus by Susana Tambutti.

Zenon Company's renowned talent has been praised by local publications and even the New York Times, and is comprised of lively and bold movements evolved from a mix of modern dance and jazz. By combining established choreographers with new talent in the Twin Cities, Zenon is quite adept at pushing forward the art of dance in Minnesota, all the while earning accolades across the country and the world.

This new collection of compelling and live art can be experienced at the Southern Theater on Washington Avenue starting tonight through Sunday, and next weekend, November 26 through 28. Tickets are $28 to $30, and may be purchased online.
