Zac Posen for Target: The looks

New York's golden boy designer Zac Posen released a line for Target this week full of cute party dresses that scream "it's springtime, so take me on a date!" The deal is the Manhattan-raised fashion-plate's second with the Big Bullseye, the first coming in 2008 when he crafted a line exclusively for Australian Target stores, and it's one that's recently predated by other high-end fashion trendsetters like Anna Sui and Jean Paul Gaultier. Two of Posen's looks we like best, however, aren't very springy at all -- in fact, they're just slightly dark and very precocious...

This look comes in red as well and the frills are detachable, in a move that is surely genius and just a stroke short of tacky. Love it. And what makes a sexy woman sexier than rolling her up in menswear-styled women's clothing? We're not out of the woods on this trend yet, and Posen carries it off beautifully, adding a splash of color to the tuxedo jacket-and-pants combol via scarf and hoisery. Our advice would be to skip the T-straps and socks and go for a simple pair of heels in any bright color, the adventurous matching them with a thin stripe of a belt.

You can shop the Posen line here and use the navigation in the left-hand column of that page to lead you to the styles you want. The site will let you know whether a particular size is in stock at the Target store near you.
