Cue the theme music: Whitney Port is coming to town.
The reality TV star (MTV's The Hills and The City)/reality TV host (Genuine Ken on Hulu. Wait, what?) is stopping by the Mall of America this Saturday to sign copies of her new book, True Whit. The book, described as "a guidebook to navigating early adulthood with grace, grit, and gorgeousness," offers up tips and life lessons from the star, and promises that Whitney will "share her secrets for dreaming big, daring to live the life you love, and dressing the part." Undoubtedly this will be an inspirational, live-changing event.
[jump] Translation: Get ready for throngs of tween girls (and 28-year-old dudes) snapping camera phone pics and yelling, "WE LOVE YOU WHITNEY!"
All jokes aside, it's refreshing to see a reality star who has what most of them lack: actual talent. Aside from her various TV ventures, Port is a successful fashion designer with her own line, Whitney Eve, and has famously worked with Kelly Cutrone at People's Revolution PR agency in Los Angeles.
The event kicks off at 1 p.m. in the West Market Square, and Whit-lits (that's the name I just coined for Whitney Port fans. She can use it though, no big deal) looking to get in on the action will need a wristband, which will be handed out beginning at 11 a.m. with purchase of the book.
For complete event details, visit the Mall of America event site, and be sure to get there early this Saturday.
