Welcome to Night Vale coming to Minneapolis

All hail the mighty Glow Cloud... the Twin Cities will welcome Night Vale into town this summer.

The Welcome to Night Vale crew just announced a summer 2014 tour throughout the U.S. and Canada, and Minneapolis made it onto the shortlist.

The popular podcast, dreamed up by Joseph Fink and Jeffrey Cranor in 2012, has amassed a huge following over the past couple years. Part Garrison Keillor, part Stephen King, and a whole lot of weird, Night Vale is presented as a radio show for the eponymous town. From strange weather reports to curious happenings around town, narrator Cecil Gershwin Palmer (played by Cecil Baldwin) takes listeners on a bizarre journey with the citizens of the fictional city.

So far there have been 47 episodes of the half hour(ish)-long podcast, so you have ample time to catch up on the news-of-the-really-weird before Baldwin comes to Minneapolis to perform "The Librarian" live onstage.

Tickets have yet to go on sale, but you can save the date now: The show will be on July 15 at the Pantages Theatre at 8 p.m.
