If there's one thing we need more of on TV, it's vampires. Okay, maybe not, but the first episode of Penny Dreadful looks to be a dramatic return to the old-school style of the original tale. The show is set in Victorian-era London, and follows a group of mortals who navigate their way through the world of the supernatural. The show, produced by Sam Mendes (American Beauty), stars Josh Hartnett as a sharpshooting American (with a dark secret, of course). Timothy Dalton and Eva Green also star, and, judging from the previews, iconic literary characters from the period -- such as Frankenstein and his monster and Dorian Gray -- will also be making regular appearances. The first episode of the series, which will be on Showtime, is streaming for all right now. You can watch it in its entirety after the jump. Be forewarned though: In addition to some rated-R gore, there is also man-butt. So it might be best to save your viewing for after work.
