While Minneapolis was recently named the fifth best city for recent graduates, there's also good news for folks who stay in school a little longer. Poets & Writers magazine has named the University of Minnesota's MFA program as number 10 in a list of 50.
[jump] The ranking were determined through surveying hundreds of academics in the midst of the application process to various programs throughout the country. Factors used to determine rankings include job placement, student to faculty ratio, cost of living, and teaching load.
The top-ranked schools for MFAs should come as no surprise; the University of Madison Wisconsin placed third, the University of Michigan Ann Arbor came in second, and top honors went to the University of Iowa.
