Two Free Things to Do This Week

This week in free stuff to do we have an awesome beer party featuring Game of Thrones-inspired brew and a Thanksgiving karaoke party. We'll also have Freeloader Friday up on Wednesday, so if you are looking for more free things to do this week and weekend, be sure to check back.

Drinksgiving Midweek Beer Geek Party

(Nomad World Pub, 501 Cedar Ave. S., Minneapolis, 612-338-6424, www.nomadpub.com)

Each week at Nomad World Pub, the Minnesota Beer Activists invite brew lovers out for a special gathering that features special brews and talk of beer. This week's installment showcases Brewery Omnegang's creations. On tap tonight will be Valar Morghulis ("all men must die"), an Abbey Dubbel that pays homage to the two-headed coin Arya Stark carries on Game of Thrones. Adoration, a dark Belgian ale, will also be available. Brewmasters will also be on hand to answer questions, and there will be beer-themed trivia to enjoy. Beer lovers may also want to stop by on Black Friday, when Left Hand's Fade to Black and Great Lakes' Blackout Stout will be on tap. Wednesday at 6 p.m.

Staraoke Karaoke

(Turf Club, 1601 University Ave., St. Paul; 651-647-0486)

You ate an insane amount of food with your family at noon, went into a food coma by 4 p.m., and now it's 6 p.m. and you are up for the evening and ready to go. It's time to call up your friends, gather your rowdy relatives, and head on out to the Turf for some karaoke. The bar will open at 6 p.m., should you need liquid courage, and karaoke starts up at 9 p.m. As for the music selection, you'll find time-honored classics for Grandpa, punk-rock tunes for your bad-ass uncle, and plenty of hip-hop for all. 9 p.m. Thursday.
