Pride Fest weekend doesn't start up until June 29. However, event organizers are kicking things off early today by asking folks to participate in their "I have pride" video project.
Folks interested in sharing their thoughts and stories are invited to create a 30-second video that can be submitted starting today on Twin Cities Pride's Facebook page. Participants are encouraged to explain why they have pride, be it through telling a story about things such as coming out, contributing to the Twin Cities LGBTQ community, experiences in activism, or anything else.
The deadline is May 1. After that, a committee will narrow down applicants to 25. On May 6, people will be able to vote for their top seven submissions. Selected videos will then be used to create a short film that will be included in promotional materials leading up to the event, and screened at various points during the summertime festival.
For more information, or for inspirational ideas, visit Twin Cities Pride on Facebook. The call for submissions vid is posted below.
