Twin Cities fashion trucks come together for downtown shopping this week
Food trucks are hot right now, but what about fashion trucks? Two years ago, Minnesota got its first fashion truck, the Fashion Mobile, followed by Flaunt Accessories taking to the streets last year. This Friday, four local fashion trucks will be coming together for an after-work event in downtown Minneapolis.
The four fashion trucks participating are Style a Go-Go, which offers pretty necklaces, scarves, belts, clutches, and flowing summertime dresses and tops; Flaunt, which specializes in locally made jewelry, hats, and other items; the Fashion Mobile, with its jewelry and dresses; and Pie Essentials, which sells lingerie, vibrators, and erotic gifts.
::UPDATE:: The Uncommon Loon, a mobile shopping unit offering thrift-store items, has also been added, totaling five fashion trucks this Friday.
The trucks will be coming together Friday, August 1, from 5 to 9 p.m. in the Ramada Lot on Hawthorne between 10th and 11th Streets in downtown Minneapolis. While this will be the first event of its kind here in the Twin Cities, the group hopes to host a few more happenings this summer, so if things go well you might see a fashion-truck festival in your neighborhood soon.
