'Trust Me!' opens this weekend at CO Exhibitions

itemprop
There are many games out there geared toward building trust among people. They are played in childhood at sleepovers, or in adulthood in acting classes, like when one person is asked to close their eyes and fall backward into the arms of their friends or classmates. But what if this type of game happened in an artistic realm?

This weekend, artist Adam Garcia will reveal what happened when artists allowed him to modify their original pieces for "Trust Me! A Collaborative Project by Adam Garcia."

Garcia enlisted the help of dozens of artists, local and national, including Mike Perry, Justin Thomas Kay, Aesthetic Apparatus, Mr. Kiji, Mikey Burton, Booka B, Sara Lintner, Ben LaFond, Greg Hubacek, Milton Un,  OBLVN, and many others. They all submitted a one-color image for Garcia to manipulate. The finished pieces will remain unseen by the original artists until the show opens. "Trust Me!" is made up of 12" x 20" prints in three colors. Luckily, we get to see the originals too as a small booklet containing those images will accompany the modified pieces.

CO Exhibitions will host the art show, which includes an opening reception on Saturday, July 9 from 7 to 10 p.m. The exhibition will be on display through August 6. Regular gallery hours are Monday through Friday from noon to 5 p.m. and by appointment.
