Three free things to do this week

itemprop

This week in free stuff to do we have a game night, a beer party, and a 10th anniversary celebration with awesome music. Come take a look and plan your week.

Light Grey Game Night: Ice Cold

(Light Grey Art Lab, 118 E. 26th St., Minneapolis)

When its not using its gallery space to throw fun art shows, Light Grey Art Lab hosts cozy board game nights open to all. While any board game is welcome on these nights, typically the event has a theme. This month's installment covers winter, snow, and survival. Suggested games include Blood Rage, where Norse gods battle it out as villagers panic amid the plunder of Ragnarok, a.k.a. the apocalypse. Or attempt to climb the epic K2 via the safety of a card deck. There's Arctic Scavengers, a game set way in the future, where villagers attempt to survive the intense climate through strategy. Regardless of what you play, the space will be warmer than the board-game setting. Thursday, 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Xmas Comes Early Happy Hour

itemprop

(Triple Rock Social Club, 629 Cedar Ave. S., Minneapolis)

This special happy hour at the Triple Rock will feature holiday pints on tap from Great Lakes Brewing Co. The company will be on hand to celebrate the release of its Ohio City Oatmeal Stout, a malty brew with a smokey factor reminiscent of fresh roasted coffee and chocolate treats. They will also have their Christmas Ale on tap, a seasonal beer with notes of honey, cinnamon, and ginger (kinda like an alcoholic holiday cookie). Thursday from 7 to 10 p.m.

7th Street Tattoo's 10-Year Birthday Celebration

(Turf Club, 1601 University Ave. W., St. Paul)

St. Paul body artists 7th Street Tattoo are turning 10. To celebrate, they are throwing an epic free party this Thursday at the Turf Club. The show will kick off with punk rockers Tongue Party. Rockers the Wolf Council and Mary Allen and the Percolators also take the stage, and Doomtree rap artist Mike Mictlan will headline. The PBR will be cheap (but then again, when isn't it?). Thursday, 7:30 p.m.
