Three free things to do this week

This week in free stuff to do we have a quirky tour, an extra geek pub trivia night, a rooftop party. Come take a look and plan your weekend.

Common Room: The Repatriation Tour

(The Soap Factory, 514 Second St. SE, Minneapolis; 612-623-9176)

In 2011, Andy Sturdevant and Sergio Vucci teamed up to host a variety of interactive art happenings. This summer, the fun continues with a series of adventures encouraging folks to look at their environment from a different perspective. Things kick off this Wednesday, August 12, with a walking tour led by Jonathan Gabel. The Detroit artist, formerly a Minneapolis resident, hasn’t visited the cities in about a decade. What has changed? What has stayed the same? Will he get lost? Take a walk with him to find out. 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

TC Star Trek Trivia 2nd Anniversary

(Driftwood Char Bar, 4415 Nicollet Ave. S., Minneapolis)

Think you know a lot about Star Trek? This Wednesday, Trekkies can test their knowledge at the two-year anniversary TC Star Trek Trivia. Forget general knowledge, world, events, or non-Enterprise-related pop trivia. This evening is all about Jean Luc Picard, Captain Janeway, the Borg, and the rest of the gang. There will also be special treats throughout the evening, including refreshments. Come in costme and sign up for the contest if you have a mean Klingon get up (or other character). Wednesday at 7 p.m.

Pop Remix

(Walker Art Center, 1750 Hennepin Ave., Minneapolis; 612-375-7600)

This Thursday, the museum is opening up its terraces for an outdoor party inspired by "International Pop," currently on display this summer. During the party, there will be a trippy liquid light show, DJ music from Andy Tokyo, and a screening of Adora Warhol’s Exploding Plastic Inevitable. Designers Emma Berg, fresh from New York City, and Christian Joy will show off new fashions, and there will be music from Wolf Lords (Aby Wolf and Grant Cutler). 6 to 10 p.m. Thursday.
