Three Free Things to Do This Week

This week in free things to do we have an '80s dance party, a Movember happening with beer and a movie, and a cool shopping event with free food and drink samples. Come take a look and plan your week.

Blue Monday

(Triple Rock Social Club)

Sure, we're probably getting a foot of snow tonight. But if you're up for a little fun, Triple Rock's Social Club's Blue Monday is a solid way to start the week. The dance night focuses on '80s hits, including pop mega-hits, beloved anthems, classic new wave songs, and more. Spinning tunes will be Patrick Donohoe (Claps) and Benjamin Jones (Funeral and the Twilight). 21+. 9 p.m. Monday.

Artisan Revival

(Minneapolis Club, 729 2nd Ave. S., Minneapolis)

This fun party at the Minneapolis Club will offer live music, cocktails and brew, sampling, and shopping from companies peddling American-made products. This includes beer and edibles from Movember Movies: Flash Your 'Stache!

(The Theatres at Mall of America;

In honor of Movember, a month when guys stop shaving to raise funds for and awareness of men's health issues, the movie theater at Mall of America will be hosting weekly screenings that feature great dude flicks and free beer. This Wednesday's installment will include a viewing of Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, about a small-time gym owner (Vince Vaughn) who enters a dodgeball tournament to keep his gym afloat. Meanwhile, a glossier rival gym chain owner (Ben Stiller) gets in his way. Beer samples will be provided by Bell's Brewery. While this event is free, donations made will benefit Movember causes. The 5:30 p.m. beer tasting will be in the Star Bar, the movie screens at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
