Three Free Things to Do This Week

This week in free things to do we have a tournament with beer specials, a Game of Thrones after party, and a free art event. Come take a look and plan your week.

Pins & Evils Pinball Tournament (Nomad World Pub, 501 Cedar Ave., Minneapolis)

Start the week off weird, as the Nomad will be hosting a pinball tournament. To compete at the event will cost you $5 (check in with the bar). If you're a spectator, however, you can watch the drama while enjoying drink specials from Surly Beer. After the winner is crowned with booze and cash, Trivia Mafia will take over the bar with free trivia. Monday at 7 p.m.

Third Thursday: Nature of Nature (Minneapolis Institute of Arts, 2400 Third Ave. S., Minneapolis)

At this installment of Third Thursday, the museum will be celebrating "Nature of Nature." The exhibition, on display through May 24, showcases the work of artists who honor, explore, and capture the beauty of nature. This includes paintings and photography of flora and fauna, material items like shoes and jewelry made from things found in the natural world, activist art seeking to encourage respect for nature, and more. You'll be able to explore the galleries both by yourself and with groups, such as Birds and Beers, who will be birdwatching. There will also be opportunities to snap your own unique nature photos, adopt a garden through Midtown Greenway Coalition, and listen to music from Toki Wright and the Big Cats. 6-9 p.m. Thursday

Must Talk TV: Game of Thrones (Republic, 221 Cedar Ave., Minneapolis)

So, you saw the season premiere of Game of Thrones and now you're itching to talk about it outside of an internet chatroom. You can do just that at Must Talk TV. Grab a beer and take a seat, as Jeff Kamin of Books & Bars will be moderating a talk on the hit HBO show. Talk about what you like about the show, what you hate, and what you wish would happen. Just be sure you're completely caught up on the show, as there will be spoilers. 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday.
