Three Free Things to Do This Week

This week in free stuff to do we have beer, networking, and gallery hopping. Come take a look.

Mid-Week Beer Geek (Nomad World Pub, 501 Cedar Ave., Minneapolis; 612-338-6424)

Hump day is a great excuse for a beer-themed happy hour. This week's installment of Mid-Week Beer Geek will feature the brew and brew masters of Badger Hill. They'll be bringing a variety of rare pints to sample, including their beta version of India Session Ale. They'll also be mixing it with their Traitor IPA, a blend they refer to as "Brewers Blend." As always, the evening will feature beer trivia. 21+. Wednesday 6 p.m.

First Thursday In the Arts District (Various locations, visit for a list of locations)

Every month, artists, galleries, and creative businesses in northeast Minneapolis open their doors and host a slew of special happenings. Last month, readers of USA Today voted the neighborhood as the best arts district in the U.S. With that to celebrate, things should be extra hopping and happy. Take tours of the new Minneapolis Television Network space, grab a drink at Red Stag, and wander through one of the many buildings that host hundreds of artists. 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
