Photographs by Xavier Tavera and Shiraz Mukarram explore the "placeness" of sex trafficking. The photography exhibit will feature an opening reception on Thursday from 5:30-7:30 p.m.


Silver and Stone Launch Party

There's a new jewelry business in town. Silver and Stone is a locally run website that specializes in selling hand-made one-of-a-kind pieces by emerging designers. At the launch party there will be drinks and snacks, plus opportunities to check out some of the work they're selling on their site. Thursday, 6-9 p.m.

Cookie House Press

(Coffee House Press, 79 13th Ave. NE, Minneapolis)

This Thursday, Coffee House Press hosts a holiday party that is extra sweet. Bring cookies to swap, as there will be plenty of varieties to trade and sample at this party. There will also be a book sale, and Coffee House authors of note will be an hand to talk about literature and sign copies of books you may want to give (it's always a nice touch to gift reading material that has been signed). Thursday, 5 to 8 p.m.
