The Book of Mormon returns to Minneapolis

The Book of Mormon returns to Minneapolis
When The Book of Mormon came to Orpheum Theatre last year, the line for tickets was out the door and down the street (impressive, considering it was January). The show sold out fast, obviously, and those stuck without a coveted ticket were left hoping that it would return soon.

And return it has. Hennepin Theatre Trust recently announced that the Tony Award-winning work will be back in town this summer, and tickets go on sale soon.

The limited run will be from August 20 to September 7 at the Orpheum Theatre. Single tickets go on sale at noon on Sunday, June 8, and can only be purchased in person. The following day at 10 a.m. (Monday, June 9), folks will be able to purchase tickets online at

, by phone at 1.800.982.2787, at Ticketmaster outlets, and at the State Theatre Box Office.

Tickets prices start at $49.

The Book of Mormon follows two Mormon missionaries as they travel to Uganda to spread the word of the Lord. Things don't go as planned, however, as they face cruel warlords and apathy from villagers more concerned with poverty and AIDS. The nine-time Tony Award-winning play boasts a book, music, and lyrics by Robert Lopez (Avenue Q) and Trey Parker and Matt Stone (South Park, Orgazmo).
