SCENEaSOTA fashion show: Designer call
SCENEaSOTA is an annual and local fashion show produced by local designer Maritza Ramirez. The show is embarking on its third year this fall, and is currently looking for designers that want to showcase their wares. We spoke to Ramirez about the details:
Jane Belfry: What is SCENEaSOTA and how was it developed?
Maritza Ramirez: It's a local runway show that I began producing in '08. Jenny Carle, Renate Adjei, and I had just graduated from St. Kate's and wanted to showcase fall collections. I happened to take on the role as producer.
JB: How has the show changed since 2008?
MR: Since then, it has grown. Every year it has changed gotten bigger. The first year we held the show at the 331 Club, then Ignite studios. We are still scoping out locations for this year's show.
JB: When is the designer call? What does it take to apply?
MR: It's going on right now and goes on until July 30th. I encourage anyone to apply, new or seasoned. There is a very short application process.
JB: When will the show be held this year?
MR: We are shooting for November 6th.
