Sarah Colonna on Attending the Super Bowl, Tweeting Gisele Bündchen

Sarah Colonna grew up a sports fan, mostly following baseball. "My dad was a sports editor, so I'm more knowledgeable than I would have been otherwise," the Arkansas native explains. "I'm a big baseball fan because when I would visit him in the summer in California, it was baseball season."

Colonna's dad worked at the Orange County Register, which made her a fan of the Los Angeles Angels.

Nowadays she's engaged to a footballer, Seattle Seahawks punter Jon Ryan. Football isn't a sport Colonna followed previously. "As I've gotten older I appreciate it more. Football used to be something that could be on in the background, but I never followed it."

That, of course, has changed.

The two met in a rather odd fashion while Colonna was still part of the Chelsea Lately roundtable.

"He watched the show, and had seen me on there," she says. "Then he approached another comedian from the show, Ross Matthews, who is a big Seahawks fan." Jon asked Ross if he could put in a good word with her. "I'd like to meet her," he said.

Matthews suggested that Ryan tweet Colonna, then told her to be on the lookout for a message. "I didn't think much of it. I thought it was just a flirt, but it kind of continued and he was like, 'I'd really like to meet you and take you out.'" One thing led to another as they say, and the two are now engaged.

This past February, Colonna got to watch her fiancé play in the Super Bowl.

"I went and sat with his entire family, which was really fun up until the very end," she says, referring to the Seahawks' last-minute loss. "Everyone was texting me asking me how the halftime show was. I didn't even watch it. That's when I got beer, because there were no lines. I didn't want to leave my seat during the game, because you never know what's going to happen."

As if the game weren't exciting enough, Colonna further entertained herself by tweeting the wife of New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, Gisele Bündchen.

"It was a one-sided twitter exchange," she notes. "For some reason it really entertained me to tweet Gisele. Somebody like her never looks at her Twitter feed or reads her messages. During the Super Bowl, I tweeted her saying, 'I'm at the Super Bowl too girl, let's hang out!' And it just became a thing."

It was entertaining for the Twittersphere as well, as the tweets received thousands of retweets and favorites. "I'm glad people found it funny."

Not everyone got the joke, though. "One person, a sportswriter, wrote me and was like, 'You know, I don't think she's ever going to respond to you. Just letting you know.' She's not supposed to respond," Colonna says. "That would ruin the joke. The joke is me tweeting her like we're best friends and her just ignoring me."
