"I have long been an admirer of Quinton, and the thoughtfulness and integrity of his writing," says Santini. "His appreciation of our community, his journalistic sensibilities, and his love of the theater make him the perfect choice for this position."
Quinton spent six years reviewing and covering the Twin Cities theater scene for City Pages (he also occasionally filled in as copy chief, working in the office next to mine), and has worked as a local correspondent for Variety. In addition to publishing several books of fiction and non-fiction, he's currently employed as METRO magazine's senior editor (he joined the staff in October 2010), and is also the editor of The Wedge community newspaper.
"In the last year I have had three jobs and I've loved them all," he says. "I loved working at City Pages, Metro has been super creative and intense, and now I feel like I am going into what feels like a perfect situation."
His new job will require him to lead the creative team behind the theater's various publications, new media accounts, website, and more.
We wish him luck!
