Once Upon A Crime hosts its 9th annual author open house, Write of Spring

itemprop
Signs of spring are popping up all over the place; buds are on the trees and the body on the Once Upon A Crime shop sign is pushing up daisies.

It's a big month for the mystery book shop. Today, April 1, marks its 24th anniversary (no fooling!), and later this month folks from the store will head to New York to receive the 2011 Mystery Writers of America Raven Award at the Edgar Awards Banquet. The camaraderie commences this Saturday, as Once Upon A Crime hosts its 9th annual author open house, Write of Spring. [jump]

This party presents a wonderful opportunity for fans of mystery and crime writing to meet their favorite local authors. Fifty authors are expected to attend the festivities including Jan Dunlap, Laura Childs, William Fietzer, Scott Pearson, Susan Runholt, Steve Horwitz, Kathryn Strand Koutsky, and Jenifer LeClair, just to name a few. Jon and Ruth Jordan, publishers of CRIMESPREE Magazine, will also be in attendance. The folks at Once Upon A Crime have a few tricks up their sleeves for the day's events, naturally, with giveaways and pre-release sneak previews of upcoming books.

Write of Spring No. 9 begins at noon this Saturday, April 1 and will conclude at 4 p.m. Once Upon A Crime Bookstore is located at 604 West 26th Street in Minneapolis. Visit the store's website for a complete schedule of the day's events and author appearances.
