This Sunday, the weather is supposed to heat up to a balmy 17 degrees. The timing is ideal, as folks will be hopping on the light rail midday and taking off their pants.
No Pants Light Rail Ride 2014 [Slideshow]
It might seem counterintuitive to strip down to your skivvies this time of year, but the annual pants-free party -- a global event that began in New York City in 2002 -- is a blast. Folks meet at the designated light-rail stop, fully dressed in their winter clothes, pay their fare, hop on the ride, and take off their pants. The result is a mix of liberation, silliness, and a bit of confusion for unsuspecting commuters.
This year's group will be meeting at the Target Field Metro Station at 1 p.m. to ride the new(ish) Green Line to St. Paul. Once aboard, the pants will fly off at the first stop. When the train has made it to the end of the line, folks will hop off, still pants-less, to pose for a group photo. The group will then hop back on for a return trip.
After the ride, people will be heading to Cowboy Jacks, which will be welcoming pants-free patrons with open arms.
If you can't make it on Sunday, but want the deets as things go down, be sure to follow @CupidRunMPLS on Twitter, as they'll be live tweeting shenanigans as they're happening.
