--Jack Reuler will direct this musical about a recent college grad and the characters he meets in an adult-themed take-off of Sesame Street. A big hit on Broadway and in touring productions, it will be re-imagined in Mixed Blood's intimate space.
So . . . an interesting season. And, no, I did not ever expect to be passing along the news that Mixed Blood was going to produce Avenue Q. On the surface, though, it's a canny choice, and one that can fit into Mixed Blood's multi-cultural mission. It's also easy to hear Reuler's laugh out there somewhere, knowing that he's thrown us one hell of a nice curveball.
