Mad Men's Jon Hamm to play 2014 Celebrity All-Star Game
We all knew Don Draper was killer at ad pitches, but what about baseball pitches? Turns out Jon Hamm is a huge baseball fan, onscreen and off. Hamm stars as a sports agent in the baseball flick Million Dollar Arm, opening today, and he'll soon take the field in Minneapolis to show off his skills.
Movie review: Million Dollar Arm
At the annual Taco Bell Legends & Celebrity Softball Game on July 13, Hamm will show off his athletic skills at Target Field alongside other local and national celebrities during All-Star Week. He's not alone, though.
Joining Hamm will be local sports stars like the Vikings' Adrian Peterson, the Wild's Zach Parise, the Lynx's Maya Moore, and baseball legends Jack Morris and Jim Thome. Better yet, Minnesota celebrities including chef Andrew Zimmern and James Denton (of Desperate Housewives fame) will also take the field. And that's just the first round of celebrity players to be announced (more will be revealed later this season).
Let's not forget, Hamm's more than just an actor -- he's actually got a mean swing. At the 2012 Celebrity All-Star Game, he hit a home run with the cool ease of Don Draper owning an ad meeting. This year will be Hamm's fourth All-Star Game, so fans might get to see him knock one outta Target Field this summer. (You can see the killer play on MLB.com.)
And come on, who doesn't want to see Don Draper in a baseball uniform?
